Send someone a very special wish this season with the 2023 Holiday Gift Card Set! The festive season is a time for family and friends, and whether you’re spending the holidays together or apart, this five-coin set is a uniquely Canadian way of marking the moment and making spirits bright. The set includes an exclusive $1 non-circulation coin with a whimsical design that captures the wonder and joy of the holiday season in Canada.
Unlike the moose on the $1 non-circulation coin in this set, a moose in the wild wouldn’t need a scarf (or an Ugly Christmas Sweater) to keep warm during the winter—it is covered in hallow hairs that naturally trap heat and protect it from the cold.
The Holiday Gift Card Set’s exclusive $1 non-circulation coin features a reverse design by Canadian artist Steve Hepburn. The festive moose is sporting a knit scarf with a maple leaf motif, while holiday ornaments hang from its antlers. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. The obverse also bears a special marking that includes four pearls symbolizing the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins and the double date of her reign.
